Dear Valued SSC Members and Partners,

One of our on-going projects is coming to a close.  The committee is looking for interested parties to contribute their expertise and time by reviewing the draft final report.  Comments on the report directly influence the final product and are of great value to the researchers.  If you are interested in participating as a reviewer, please contact me no later than Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

The project is titled "Experimental Quantification of the Tensile Strength and Ductility of Under Matched Aluminum Welds" and has been conducted by the University of Michigan.  For more information, the initial project idea submission can be found on the SSC website.  This project was selected by the committee in 2015.  In short, the researchers have experimentally tested aluminum marine structural connection details with under-matched welds to better understand the capabilities of these connections and create a test database for future design method verification.

To volunteer, please contact me no later than Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

Thank you for your support of the Ship Structure Committee!

Sincerely,

Jonathan Duffett, LT, USCG
